Next Parish Council Meeting is on Thursday October 17th

The next Parish Council Meeting will take place at 7.30 on Thursday October 17th in the Old School Room. The meeting is open to the public, and if anyone wishes to address the Council on any of the items on the agenda, please notify David Marriott on  0787 2930030 or email horleyparishclerk@btinternet.com before the meeting. Whilst there is no absolute right to do this, the Chairman has the authority to permit it if he chooses to do so.

New Parish Councillor Wanted

As a result of the resignation of Jennifer Cross, there is now a vacancy on Horley Parish Council.  Formal notice relating to this vacancy has been published by the Returning Officer at Cherwell District Council .

Shortly the Council expects to be looking for someone who is interested in becoming a Councillor. Would you like to  represent our village and continue to help make Horley a great place to live? Have your say at the Annual Parish Meeting on Thursday

This is your opportunity to let your Parish councillors know what you think at the Annual Parish Meeting on Thursday May 16th at 7.30 at the Old School.

This meeting (which follows on from the AGM at 7.00, see below), is intended to provide an opportunity to let you all know what is going on.

There will be reports from the Council and other local groups and organisations, like the Cricket Club and Michael Hardinge Trust. If anyone would like to have a specific topic added to the agenda, please email the Parish Clerk, David Marriott on horleyparishclerk@btinternet.com.

This is an open meeting at which you are invited to raise any issues of concern. It’s your opportunity to tell the Parish Council what you think they could do for the village.

The agenda is:

  • Michael Hardinge Trust Annual Report

Annual General Meeting – Thursday May 16th 7:00 pm

The Parish Council AGM will start at 7:00pm in the Old School Hall. This meeting is also open to the public, but villagers will get the opportunity to ask questions later at the Annual Parish Meeting at 7.30pm (see above).

Kerbing Work in Church Lane due to start Dec 3rd

Work to install kerbing outside the church to commence on Monday December 3rd between the hours of 08.00 – 16.00 for up to 2 weeks.

At the request of Horley Parish Council, Oxfordshire County Council have agreed to install a kerb along the east side of Church Lane, adjacent to the church boundary in order to protect the grass verge from further erosion.  Conservation kerbs will be used to match those existing at the Hornton Lane/Church Lane junction.  Work is programmed to start on 3 December, and may last for up to two weeks.  The road will not be closed, but no parking will be permitted along the section affected during the working day.
