We’re Jammin’ for Gary to celebrate the many roles of The Fantastic Mr. Fox and fund raising for Thames Valley Air Ambulance as they landed on our Cricket Field to help him.
One of the many roles Gary played was that of a “Pied Piper”; he managed to get so many children and adults to join in the concerts that we started in Horley. Gary loved reggae and a strong bassline, so its “gonna be all about the bass” and “we’re jammin’, jammin’, we hope you like jammin’, too.
This event will also raise awareness for both the “Hands off Horton” Hospital campaign and the Youth Offending Service, both of which were very important to Gary.
Thanking you in advance, with love Deb, Grant and Lauren xxx
Please note that due to the capacity of our church this event is invitation only, we have tried to include everyone via a Facebook invite and email. However if you knew Gary and you would like to join us on Monday 1st May then please email email@example.com so if numbers permit we’ll try and “jam” you in!
Another Hanfest just over the road in our sister village Hanwell with a few folk from Horley and Horton! The 3H’s now have music and crafts to add to our gardening collaborations. What a creative community we have here in our little corner of North Oxfordshire, hope to see you there. Deb
Listen out on Saturday 11th June from 10:15 to 11:00 when the Edgehill Ringers will be ringing the Horley bells as part of the celebrations to mark the Queen’s 90th Birthday. Or better still, come along to watch and help us celebrate!
Horley’s Summer Fete this year is on Saturday 25th June and will once again include the popular bric-a-brac stall. So please dig out any toys, books and other bric-a-brac you no longer need and someone from the Ladies Guild will be round to take them off your hands during week commencing 13th June.
And whilst you’re having a cleansing sort out of your cupboards and places for bric a brac, if you come across any spare bottles of wine or tombola prizes you would like to donate, the Ladies Guild will happily take them off your hands too and put them to good use.
Don’t forget then to come along and enjoy this wonderful annual event from 2 to 5pm, in the Old School and Church.
Raffle Prize Draw – first prize £100 cash, second prize a BMW for a weekend. Stalls include the tombola, plants, bric-a-brac, homemade cakes, nice or nasty jars, water or wine and many more. And of course there will be refreshments – teas, cakes, Pimms and a barbecue – so you won’t go hungry or thirsty!
(Please drop off donations of cakes and homemade produce on Saturday morning.)
