Children’s Halloween Trail – Saturday 31st October

Halloween

“On Saturday 31st October children who live in Horley (and their parents) are invited to take part in a Halloween Trail around the village. To ensure it is a covid- safe activity children will be following a map (see below), and keeping to groups of 6 or less, to find different spooky items (and of course sweets!) located around the village. All sweets will be individually wrapped and each station will have one treat per child. We won’t be knocking on any doors and unfortunately we can’t accept any treats put out in front of houses. We would love villagers to join in by putting out their carved pumpkins to light our path by 5pm on Saturday 31st. Maps and glow sticks for children will be available from underneath the village notice board.”

If you would like us to email you a copy of the map or if you have any other questions please contact Sarah at sarahtaylor0403@gmail.com

Thanks and Happy Halloween!

Village Litter Pick will be this Saturday…

The annual village litter pick will take place at 10.00 on the morning of Saturday 26th September.

If you can spare some time to help out please could you gather in front of the Old Post Office on the corner of Banbury Lane at 10.00 on 26th September. Litter pickers, protective gloves and rubbish and recycling bags will be provided by CDC.  If people have their own gloves, that would be great, as people are urged to protect themselves against any risk of infection, and take care to wash their hands thoroughly after the litter pick has been completed.

Let’s keep Horley looking fabulous!

Horley’s ‘Progressive Drinks Sunday’ is on Feb 2nd

‘Progressive Drinks Sunday’ to start at 12.00 on Sunday Feb 2nd at the Red Lion Pub

‘Back by popular demand, we are delighted that the second Horley Progressive Drinks Sunday event will be run this year on Sunday 2ndFebruary. We do hope you will be able to join us, to start an otherwise unpopular month with a bit of a bash.

We will start at noon at the Red Lion pub, and then over a period of about two hours, we each progress to three different hosts in the village. You will enjoy wine and/or non-alcoholic drinks at each venue, and plenty of nibbles and finger food as well. So, over a period of about two hours, we each eat, drink and laugh with lots of other people – old friends and new.

This isn’t just for couples. Singles come too, and together we beat off any winter blues. The cost? Twelve pounds each. It’s a bargain – and any money we raise helps to fund our village church.

If you want to come, please get in touch: Glenys_Stacey@hotmail.com  or call 01295 738951.’
