Due to a fantastic response from the village regarding our forthcoming Progressive Dinner, we are looking for two more hosts.

3Hs Gardening Club Plant Sale – 7th May

plants-3

The Hornton May Day event isn’t the only event taking place in the village next week.

There’s also the 3Hs Gardening Club plant sale – to which everyone is invited. It starts at 10.30am in the pavilion on Saturday week – May 7 – and be sure to get there early for the best bargains at rock bottom prices! The plants will be of top quality and bottom prices so if you have a chance to spread the word to other gardeners you know please do so.

There will be a large selection of bedding and vegetable plants available but the club say there is always room for more! So, if you have any excess in your garden or greenhouse looking for a good home, please bring them along to the pavilion on the Friday from 7pm when the sale is being set up.
“This is the 3Hs main annual fundraiser – back after two years – so we look forward to seeing everyone there. As well as the plants, there will be tea or coffee and, of course, a raffle.”

You may also be interested in the talk being given at the club’s next meeting on Tuesday week – May 10. Club chair Mike Patching says: “Duncan Coombes will be giving his talk originally entitled ‘Colours and texture in the garden’.  So spread the word and bring along any potential members that might enjoy the evening.”

Non members are welcome to come to 3Hs meetings. As well as the talk, there’s a horticultural bring’n’buy stall at each meeting. If you join the club, you get a discount card entitling you to 10 per cent off every time you visit Farnborough Nurseries.

There is also there is a visit to RHS Wisley Gardens on the 25th June and there are still seats available.  Wisley is a stunning place to visit and is a ‘ bucket List must’ for all gardeners. Anyone, member or not of the 3H’s who might like to attend will be very welcome, please contact Malcolm Cross for details on 01295 670562 or Mike Patching on 01295 730039.  The coach will pick and drop back at Hornton and Horley.
