MHT May Day Breakfast – a BIG thank you!
A BIG thank you to everyone who rolled out of bed on a Sunday morning for the Michael Hardinge Trust’s fundraising fry-up!
Over 50 people arrived at the School House to enjoy a cooked breakfast with friends and neighbours! It was lovely to see some new faces together with regular supporters.
The event raised nearly £700 which will help the Trust support Horley’s children throughout their education and to also maintain the School House as a vital village amenity.
We are also very grateful for the generous donations we received and for the wonderful sponsorship and delicious sausages from “debbie&andrew’s” who support rural community initiatives. Do take a look at their website www.debbieandandrews.co.uk for details of their products and for where “debbie&andrew’s” sponsorship is also making a difference. See their post about the breakfast https://www.debbieandandrews.co.uk/community/571-may-day-breakfast-sizzles-up-700-for-horley-village
The Trustees could not hold such events without the help of their families who mucked in with everything from frying eggs, to putting up bunting, to washing-up and also making a last minute dash for more sausages!
With many people asking “when is the next one?!” the Trustees will be looking to their diaries …. and to their feathered egg-layers!…..to set a date!

Annual Parish Meeting at 7.30 on Thursday May 19th
The 3 P’s? Well they are usually Pooh, Parking, Planning…..don’t miss out on your chance to have a say. Are there things you want to see our Parish Council tackle? Are you satisfied with the current priorities?
This is a public meeting, although it is organised by the council, and is designed to let everybody know what the council is doing, and more importantly, to give people the opportunity to tell the council what they think they should be doing! Are people happy with the council’s priorities, such as the provision of a play area, or do they feel they should be focussing more on other things such as environmental improvements? Here is the opportunity for people to have their say.
The agenda for this meeting is Continue reading
