A big thank you to everyone who came along to the Horley fete recently, and special thanks to Megan Bottoms who took some great photos of the event – see below.

As it’s clear from the photos, everyone seemed to be having a good time! The refreshments in the Old School were very popular (delicious cakes – thank you all the bakers!) and there was an excellent selection of stalls in the Church. What’s more, we raised a fantastic £2,300 for our Church and local charities, so thank you again!

There has been a fantastic response to Horley’s Progressive Dinner which is taking place on 28th June.
It’s all set to be another great evening, especially if the weather stays like this!
If there is anyone who hasn’t put their name down please do so by this Saturday (21st) at horleyprogressive@gmail.com
Loads to do at the Horley fete tomorrow – here are just a few of the stalls in the Church. There are also refreshments in the Old School, plus home made cakes, tombola, wheel of fortune, great raffle prizes and lots of games including guess the weight of the tortoise!

Ref 25/00563/SO – Request For Screening Opinion – Elgin Energy
Without prejudicing any decision/opinion on any future planning application, Horley Parish Council supports the Request for Screening Opinion (Environmental Impact Assessment.)
Further details can be found on the Cherwell District Council website – Planning Ref 25/00563/SO
Graham Curd – Chair Horley Parish Council
You may be aware that a planning application has been submitted to Cherwell District Council by Elgin in relation to the proposed solar farm, part of which is in the parish of Horley. This application is seeking the opinion of CDC as to whether they consider that an environmental impact assessment is required for the proposed solar farm. While this is for CDC to decide, the Parish Council are reviewing the proposal and will submit comments to CDC in due course.
