Hornton Lane is still closed

The water leak has been fixed but Hornton Lane is still closed today (19th Feb) outside Holly Tree Farmhouse. It is likely to be closed for a few more days until the road is repaired.

Hornton Lane is temporarily closed today (19th Feb) outside Holly Tree Farmhouse whilst Thames Water fix the water leak. Work should be complete and the road open again by early afternoon.

‘Winter Woodland’ painting evening in the Old School on 6 Feb

Following the success of the lino-printing workshop last November, Tracey and Claud are back with another event to raise funds for Katharine House Hospice.

A ‘Winter Wonderland’ painting evening will take place in the Old School on Friday 6th Feb from 6:30 pm. To book a place, please contact Tracey or send an email to: horleyladiesguild@gmail.com

‘Come to an evening of painting your very own ‘Winter woodland’ canvas. Paint along with me and I promise you will finish with a beautiful painting that you will be proud of, with lots of fun and and laughter along the way. You don’t have to have any experience, you just need to have plenty of enthusiasm! I will provide all the materials. I look forward to seeing you, all in aid of Katharine House Hospice.

Warwick Road – Proposed Housing Development

From Horley Parish Council:

There is a consultation meeting being held for up to 200 houses on the west side of the Warwick on the land next to the Roman Fields development.

For anyone who would like to attend it is at North Oxfordshire Academy on Tuesday 6th January 2026 5.30-8.00pm.

Planning application for Solar Farm – revised closing date and photos requested by Keep Hanwell Village Rural

Update from Horley Parish Council:

The closing date for comments on the application is now 26th September. Comments can be made via this link:

In addition, to aid their response to the proposed solar farm, the ‘Keep Hanwell Village Rural’ group have requested assistance from Horley residents. They have requested that any resident of Horley who can see the area where the panels are proposed from their property should take a picture of the view and send it to them at keephanwellvillagerural@gmail.com.
