Horley in Bloom Competition for the Platinum Jubilee
As part of our Platinum Jubilee celebrations we are aiming to make Horley even more beautiful with our Horley in Bloom competition.
This bank holiday weekend is an ideal time to buy your plants and start planting your tubs and baskets ready for judging on 4th June. Please remember to register at The Red Lion so that the judges will know who to visit.
There is something for everyone with 3 categories: 0-10 years | 11-16 | Adult.
Don't forget to take a look at Caroline's plant stall.
Horley Platinum Jubilee
It’s not long until Horley’s Jubilee Celebrations – come along on Sunday 5th June and see old/meet new friends in the village to Celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee

A reminder that there will be a village celebration for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee on Sunday 5th June on the cricket field from 2 pm.

Easter at St Etheldreda

You are invited to join us at the following services at St Etheldreda:
Good Friday (15 April) – Stations of the Cross at 12 noon
Fourteen illustrations of events leading up to the crucifixion will be placed around the church and the congregation will visit each station, following the evocative story of Jesus’ journey to the cross and singing one verse of a hymn at each picture.
This will be followed by a simple lunch (soup and roll) in the Old School Hall at 12.30pm in return for a small donation.
Easter Day (17 April) – Easter Day Holy Communion Service at 10.30am
We look forward to welcoming you as we celebrate Easter. This will be a simple service with a short sermon and Holy Communion. It’s especially suitable for young families with the possibility of chocolate if the Easter Bunny arrives!
We hope you can join us for one or both of these events.

Volunteers Required – Children’s Church Activities – Ironstone Benefice
Rev Alicia Baker is looking to form a team of people to assist with running Church activities for children within the Ironstone Benefice. This may be in a variety of ways – for example, holding occasional Saturday craft events at village halls, visiting schools, or providing activities for children during some Sunday services. To begin with, Revd Alicia Baker would like those interested to meet to discuss ideas, possible avenues for children’s Church activities in the community, what level of commitment people could offer and what people’s particular gifts might be. Volunteers will be required to do the Church of England’s safeguarding procedures. If you would like more details, please contact Rev Alicia Baker on 01295 738593 or email rectorofironstone@gmail.com
Messy Church group – anyone interested?
If you have small children, would you be interested in starting or being involved a Messy Church group? If so, please contact Kate Wythe on 07791 399227 or katewythe@gmail.com
