I live in Horley and am a foundation governor at Bishop Carpenter School in North Newington. There are quite a few children from Horley who attend BCS and we are currently looking for new governors to join the team. 

Are you interested in making a true difference where it really matters? Our schools are stronger when they’re supported by people from all walks of life. I’m a governor at Bishop Carpenter School in North Newington school and we are looking for more volunteers to join our board.

You don’t need to be an expert or have a background in education – training and support are provided. You just need to be willing to ask questions, listen and help guide the school strategically. Being a school governor has helped me grow personally and professionally. I’ve developed skills in strategic thinking, finance, accountability and teamwork, all while supporting a school that I care a great deal about. It’s incredibly rewarding to see the impact you can have on pupils, staff and the wider community.
