Horley Manor stables were broken into last night as were the garages and outbuildings belonging to the houses at the top of Manor Orchard. Please can everyone make sure they lock all their outbuildings and do not leave tools/gardening equipment outside.

New Bus service is up and running on Thursdays
The new once a week bus service to Banbury started last week and will run every Thursday as follows:

A Horley resident who tried out the service last week gave this report:
‘It provides a quick and flexible way to get to and from Banbury without the use of a car. The journey starts from Hornton then through Horley etc. Depending on the requirements of the passengers the driver will go to the Banbury bus station or miss that out and go straight to the Gateway Retail Park. There is certainly enough time to shop there and or in Banbury etc.
As you can see from the timetable the bus will pick you up from the retail park for the return journey so no need to use the current service to get back to Banbury. Speak to the driver on the inward journey and he will adapt the route to suit the passengers.
The service is free to everyone both young and old, infirm or not.
Speaking to the driver he explained that the service was not a trial run but was intended to be a permanent feature. However, he did go on to say that after a period of time, it is quite possible that the popularity of the service will be looked at and if it was not used to any great extent it could be stopped.
The provision of a bus service has been the subject of much debate with pressure being applied on the council regularly. So please use the bus. It is flexible, comfortable and gives you enough time for shopping.‘

Horley Ladies Guild Quiz a Resounding Success
Thanks to all those who helped make the Horley quiz held on Friday 3rd February such a success. We had a great turnout – in fact, we would not have been able to fit many more into the Old School!
Teams puzzled over crops grown around Horley; beers served in the Red Lion, road sign locations and kitchen cupboard ingredients amongst other things.
Huge thanks to everyone who helped on the night.
The quiz raised £600 to be split between two worthy charities: The Katherine House Hospice and the Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution.
Horley Charity Quiz this Friday (2nd February)
There is still room for one or two more teams at the Quiz on Friday – book your place with Emma Hamer on 07469 084691 or email Emma.Hamer@nfu.org.uk

Horley Charity Quiz – Friday 2nd February
Horley Ladies Guild are organising a charity quiz on 2nd Feb at 7pm – see poster below for details.
Most of the questions have a local twist so come along and pitch your wits against your neighbours in this fun quiz. Teams of up to 6 can enter, or you can come along and make up a team on the night.
Entry is £5.00 per person and all monies raised will be shared between the Katharine House Hospice and the Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution.
There will be a cash bar serving refreshments and a raffle. (Raffle prizes welcome!) Previous quizzes have been very popular – in fact we ran out of room so please book your place by contacting Emma Hamer on 07469 084691 or email Emma.Hamer@nfu.org.uk

Notes related to service D:
• Times are subject to change due to fleet/operator availability, and each route might operate on different days
• Mollington and Little Bourton now served frequently by Stagecoach service 77A, six days per week
• Cropredy served by routes 497 and 501 on Thursdays and Saturdays • Claydon served by route 497 on Thursdays
• R indicates that the service operates to these points on request only
Particular questions related to service D:
• Is there enough time in Banbury for each service?
• What days of the week should this service run, bearing in mind the existing provision for Cropredy and Claydon?
• Is a minibus (16 seats) likely to be sufficient?
• Is there likely to be sufficient demand for this service?
