Recent thefts in the village

Please be aware that subsequent to the Parish Council’s previous post on thefts from garden sheds in the village (28 September 2026) there have been further break-ins in the village.

Please be extra vigilant and ensure outbuildings are locked up. As per advice issued before from Matthew Barber, the Police and Crime Commissioner for TVP, please do mark any equipment with a suitable marker with your name and address. It may not stop the burglaries but it will make it easier for stolen goods to be returned if found and make the resale of them more difficult. Another good way to prove your ownership of any items is to ensure that the equipment is registered with the manufacturer for warranty. It may seem futile, but please report any incident to the police. They probably won’t be able to do too much, but they definitely won’t if they don’t know about it.

Any additional measures residents may be able to take discussed at the forthcoming Parish Council Meeting will be shared on Horley Views in due course.

Garden Shed Break-Ins

Unfortunately a couple of garden sheds in the village were broken into last night (Sunday 27th September) and garden equipment, including a mower, was stolen.

Defibrillator at the Red Lion

A check has revealed a fault with the Defib at the Red Lion. This means it has to be returned to the manufacturers.

In the meantime, I am communicating with the suppliers to get a loan one until the village’s one is returned.  I have expressed the urgency on this matter.

In case of emergency please ring 999.
